What is a Nutritionist?
Nutritionists are frontline advisory staff working with clients who are otherwise healthy yet are looking to improve their health and wellbeing through a positive approach to nutrition. Nutritionists work with clients to identify health and nutrition goals, and to develop a tailored meal plan to assist in achieving these goals. Whether the client is aiming to lose weight, improve general health, enhance immunity, reduce stress or improve physical performance, a Nutritionist has the skills and knowledge to help them get there. Nutritionists are only able to work with those clients who are over the age of 18 and who do not have any serious health issues or disabilities.
In addition to this, Mel is also a Nutritional Counsellor (Health & Wellness Coach) as well as a practising Sports Nutritionist. Mel is a Nationally Recognised Nutritionist (NRN) and fully registered with the Nutrition Council of Australia.
We believe nutritional changes require a holistic approach - every area of wellbeing in your life is intertwined. By addressing not only physical wellbeing, but also mental, social, spiritual and emotional - our clients receive the most comprehensive and personalised service that will see them achieve the best results over the long term.
What we can help you with:
Improving your health
Weight Loss or Weight Gain
Improved Energy, Sleep & Mood
Mindset, Habits & Accountability
Education & Empowerment
Before your initial consultation, you will receive a Health & Wellness questionnaire that will need to be filled out and returned prior to your consultation. The answers to this questionnaire will be discussed at length during your consultation, as well as a full health history and current diet overview. From here, an individualised plan will be developed in order to meet your unique requirements.
Your plan may include a personalised meal plan, advice and strategies to modify your existing diet, ongoing consultations over a period of time, nutritional counselling, supplement advice and suggestions, as well as advice on other areas of your life such as sleep, relaxation, anxiety, stress and overall wellbeing.
For most clients, follow up consultations will be required. Frequency will depend on your unique requirements, time availability and finances. Clients will be required to commit fully to their program and will be given a comprehensive breakdown of costs and timeframes before committing. At RISE we make sure to keep our client intake to a small group at any one time in order to be able to fully commit to our clients and give each and every client the time and attention they deserve. Because of this, clients will be asked to sign commitment contracts and be fully ready and prepared to make their health a top priority.
